I was born in North India and moved to London to follow my dream of studying theatre & films.

I trained as an actor at the Lee Strasberg Institute in London and the Ivana Chubbuck technique. I have had the privilege of working with directors such as David Yates, Mike Leigh and Dexter Fletcher in the recent Oscar/Bafta winning film Bohemian Rhapsody playing the role of Jer Bulsara.(Freddie’s Mum).

It was my passion for stories with strong female voices, especially those that reflect my culture, which inspired me to turn to writing and directing to help bring them to the screen.

I studied courses on filmmaking at the National Film School and writing with Emmy award-winning writer Jan Hartman.

I am currently developing a feature Script with the BFI. The script won the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum and Tribeca All Access.

I am in post production of  'We've Only Just Begun' a short/proof of concept for the feature.

I have made two shorts and a low budget feature Little Box of Sweets  which was shot on S16 with a mix of cast and crew from India and the UK both. The film was shot in India and was cast by Lucy Bevan and the late Mary Selway. The film did not get an official distribution but received encouraging reviews from the press.

‘ A simple, saccharine-free love letter to a fast-disappearing India… an impressive directorial debut…”   Derek Elley, Variety Magazine

“A promising first feature…appealing echoes of Jean Renoir’s The River…” Tom Dawson Channel 4

I was awarded the Grand Jury Award for Emerging Talent at the South Asian Int. Film Festival, New York. The film also won Best Music Award.

La Lune Folle (Crazy Moon) my last 10min short is a fantasy/period drama starring Dame Siân Phillips. A genre where films directed by people from BAME background according to the Director’s UK,  is less than 1%.

The film was nominated for Best film at several festivals and won Best Short at the Rajasthan International Film Festival and opened for 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing at Bath Film Festival and is now available to watch on Amazon Prime in both the UK and US and is also available globally via Shorts TV channel.

I am a competent editor, working on FCP X and edited my short La Lune Folle.
